Privacy policy

01 · Whose data

Debaters

Speech transcripts, speaker roles and best-debater vote counts. Released records identify debaters by side and speaker position, not by name.

Judges

Stage scores, votes, ballots and written rationales. Judges are referenced by anonymous identifiers so that consistency can be studied without revealing identity.

Recordings

Audio and match-control video are retained by the authors for auditing and are not part of the public release.

02 · Commitments
  1. Consent. Participants in the organised competitions were informed that recordings and adjudication records would be used to build a research dataset.
  2. Minimisation. Only what the tasks require is released: transcripts, stage structure, scores, votes, ballots and rationales. Names, contact details and affiliations are removed from released files.
  3. Rationale text. Judge commentaries may mention debaters by role or nickname. They were reviewed during processing; report any remaining identifying passage and it will be redacted.
  4. No re-identification. Users agree, under the terms of use, not to identify individuals or link records to people outside the dataset.
  5. Correction and removal. Any debater or judge may request correction or removal of records that concern them. Requests are handled by the maintainers at Liu AI Lab and reflected in the next dataset version.
  6. This website. The site itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
